The generous flavours, stylish balance and long minerally textures of 2013 Chapoutier Cote du Rhone are perfectly suited to the subtle characters and fresh creaminess of Président Double Brie.
M. Chapoutier Cote de Rhone, one of France’s classic regional styles, is one of my favourite wines. The fruit is sourced from prime Grenache and Syrah vineyards in the south and northern Rhone Valley. This intensely aromatic and gorgeously expressive wine has an ethereal quality that few wines at this remarkable price point ever achieve.
Intensely perfumed with fresh blackberry, musky, spice aromas, generous flavours, loose knit supple textures and fine underlying acidity, this seductive red wine reflects the essence of modern winemaking and the best terroirs of the region. Michel Chapoutier, who regularly visits Australia (to make wine), is a major proponent of biodynamic viticulture. The main aim of his winemaking philosophy is to harness the natural energy and character of the Rhone Valley vineyard landscape.
