Marques de Riscal overall freshness, sinuous quality and fruit generosity that make this wine such an ideal companion to the creamy and subtle flavoured Président Double Brie.
Established in 1858, is one of Rioja’s oldest wineries and Spain’s most recognised international wine brand. Juxtaposed against 19th Century facades and labyrinthine cellars, lie state-of-the-art winemaking, temple-like barrel maturation and the sublime modern architecture of Frank Gehry.
The billowing titanium ribbons of Marques de Riscal’s defining landmark swirl and eddy above the “city of wine.” The ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour and clean crisp lines symbolise heritage, evolution and innovation. The 2008 Marques de Riscal Reserve, aged in American oak for around two years before bottling, is a classic style with lovely bright crimson colour, lifted dark berry, roasted walnut, praline aromas, slinky textures and beautiful richness of fruit. A small percentage of grape varieties graciano and mazuelo, never exceeding 10%, gives extra vinosity and muscular drive.
